Driving north up the M1 from London, I figured it was about time for a break—and what better way to stretch the legs than a swim? Quick look at the Worldwide Pool Directory (a lifesaver, as always), and there it was: an old-school 33.3m pool just a few minutes off the motorway, with a lane session starting pretty much as I pulled in. Perfect timing.

No idea what to expect, but that’s part of the fun. One more pool ticked off the list.
