Staying at the Beachcomber Motel on the north side of Fort Bragg—a proper beach-style motel where every room has a sea view. Highly recommended! It’s currently off-season, but I can imagine this place being packed in the summer.

Had a first last night—using a laundrette! Popped into Lucy’s Laundry for a service wash but, with a bit of guidance from Lucy herself, managed to DIY.

This morning, I headed back into town for a swim before continuing the journey north toward Oregon. The C.V. Starr Aquatic Center is a fantastic community facility, featuring a 25-yard lap pool and an adjoining kids’ splash park.

The eight lane pool was quiet, plenty of space for a lane to yourself (or three!). Worked through a 4,000-yard set to make up for my recent low weekly averages - I was overdue a longer session!

On the way back to the motel, swung by Starbucks for coffee and breakfast sandwiches—pretty sure that’s my third Starbucks breakfast this week! Not quite as good as McDonald’s breakfast sandwiches, though. Also, what’s going on with egg prices in the US? Absolutely crazy at the moment!
